"I consider myself fortunate to be a participant in Dan Lewis's twice a week Strength and Stability classes. Along with a number of 'seniors' I take part in these thoroughly worthwhile exercises. Most of us have some form of mobility restriction and Dan brilliantly manages the classes to deal with those challenges. His level of expertise and individual consideration is of the highest. None of us feel inadequate, exercises are explained and it is no problem if there are individual challenges. It is not a competition. His skill at handling us 'seniors' is quite amazing and a club environment has developed.

“The hardest thing is walking through the door not knowing anyone, but everyone is so friendly and the exercises are tailored to ensure that you can do them whatever your ability. Within three weeks I was able to get out of my chair unaided, then I noticed I was walking much better. When I walked up Pride Hill for the first time since Covid I was so happy and I am now looking to walk up The Lawley, maybe even before Christmas.”

"I read about Dan’s classes but wasn’t sure that they would be suitable for me because I didn’t feel unsteady on my feet though I was stiff following a bout of poly myalgia rheumatica so I started going to strength and stability classes in April this year.
Following a warmup session Dan guides us through a variety of movements aimed at improving our upper and lower body strength, core strength, flexibility and balance, he includes brain games and breathing exercises, stretching and cool down sessions. The exercises are done either standing or sitting and for some exercises we use a resistance band (which Dan provides).
Everyone works at their own pace and although he is friendly and lighthearted, Dan is vigilant throughout the session suggesting variations to the movements for our different strengths and abilities.
At first my hips, shoulders and upper back were stiff and painful and I was concerned about falling or jarring my back walking on uneven ground.
Through Dan’s classes I have become more confident as my posture, strength and flexibility gradually improve, I would recommend them to everyone that hopes to stay active."
